Established in 1989 as the commercial arm of Macquarie University, Access Macquarie Limited facilitates and supports the commercial needs of industry, business and government organisations seeking to employ (utilise) the academic expertise of the broader University community.

Access MQ is governed by a Board of Directors, comprising representatives from senior management of the University, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Chief Operating Officer), and external organisations with close links to the University. The Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Company.

Access Macquarie Limited is a wholly owned, self funded subsidiary of Macquarie University.
