Research & Consulting Projects represent a large part of Access MQ’s business. In both the Science and Humanities areas, research and consulting projects range from small projects which require one academic for a few months, to ongoing work with a team of academics over a number of years. Access MQ has the resources to locate the appropriate expert skills, opinions or knowledge required from both within Macquarie University and the business community. Access MQ provides consulting support services to academic staff and external consultants. Access MQ's Research & Consulting Unit offers professional Project Management. Services include liaison/negotiation with consultants and clients; organising and attending meetings to discuss the scope of proposed projects, methodologies etc. prior to contract preparation. Access MQ arranges employment of all project staff, either individuals or a multi-disciplinary team to work with industry, government or the corporate area. Equipment for the project can also be purchased or hired through Access MQ. All financial aspects of Project Management are included in Access MQ's services, from the negotiation and preparation of initial budgets to invoicing and paying suppliers’ accounts. Access MQ’s Research & Consulting team have the experience and expertise to prepare and formulate Expressions of Interest and Proposals for projects and grants ranging in $ value from $5,000 to $5million. Their negotiation skills are employed in the area of contract and fee negotiation between academics and clients.
